OKAY, SO ONE OF THE GOALS OF THIS JOINT COLLABORATION OF BOARDS IS TO TEAR DOWN SILOS AND INCREASE COMMUNICATION SO THAT THERE IS MORE TRANSPARENCY ACROSS THE BOARDS AND COMMISSION. AND SO WE KNOW THAT THAT SYNERGY WILL LEAD TO, YOU KNOW, GREATER EFFICIENCY ACROSS THE CITY. SO AT THE MAY 13TH PLANNING AND ZONING COMMISSION MEETING, YOU ALL ASKED STAFF TO BRING FORWARD SOME SUGGESTED TOPICS FOR DISCUSSION AS AND CONSIDERATION AS A PRIORITY PROJECT OR INITIATIVE. AND WE'VE DONE THAT. SO THIS LIST OF PROJECTS INITIATIVES IS INCLUDED IN YOUR STAFF REPORT. ONE OF THE THINGS THAT WE HAVE BEEN TOLD BY THE CITY ATTORNEY'S OFFICE IS THAT WE MUST, YOU KNOW, LIMIT DISCUSSION REGARDING THESE ITEMS. SO BASICALLY WHAT WE HAVE LISTED HERE, AND I'M SURE YOU ALL HAVE, YOU KNOW, MANY GREAT IDEAS. HAMPTON ROAD CHARACTER CODE. WE LISTED TEXT AMENDMENTS, YOU KNOW, BEFORE THE COMMISSION GREEN SPACE TEXT AMENDMENT WAS BROUGHT FORTH AND APPROVED. AND THAT IS CURRENTLY SITTING FOR CITY COUNCIL CONSIDERATION. AND THERE IS FURTHER DISCUSSION THAT'S NEEDED WITH THE CITY MANAGER'S OFFICE ABOUT THAT ONE. AND YOU ALL CONSIDERED, NON-CONFORMING USES AND STRUCTURES. THERE WAS A PROPOSED AMENDMENT THAT THE FORMER DIRECTOR BROUGHT FORTH LAST SUMMER TO ADDRESS THAT, THAT WOULD PROVIDE A ONE YEAR PERIOD WHEREBY IF A STRUCTURE WAS DESTROYED TO THE POINT OF 60% OR GREATER, IF THE PROPERTY OWNER MADE THE REPAIRS OR STARTED THE REPAIRS WITHIN ONE YEAR, THEN THEY WOULD BE ALLOWED TO REBUILD TO, YOU KNOW, THE STANDARDS IN EXISTENCE WHEN THEY BUILT THEIR PROPERTY. NOT UP TO, YOU KNOW, CARRYING ZONING AND STANDARDS.

AND SO WE STAFF HAS FIELDED MANY REQUESTS RELATED TO THE MIXED USE FOLKS WANTING TO DO MIXED USE ON A SITE THAT'S LESS THAN THREE ACRES. AND THEN WE HAVE THE COMP PLAN IMPLEMENTATION.

YOU KNOW, THE COMP PLAN WAS ADOPTED LAST YEAR. AND TO BRING THE ZONING ORDINANCE UP TO DATE WITH THE COMP PLAN RECOMMENDATIONS, THERE ARE SOME CHANGES THAT ARE NEEDED TO OUR ZONING ORDINANCE. AND ONE OF THOSE RELATES TO THE VARIETY OF HOUSING TYPES. THE TRIPLEX IN COURT PLEX. BUT THERE ARE MANY. AND THEN WE HAVE A ZONING, SOME ZONING CASES THAT HAVE BEEN RECOMMENDED. BENBROOK TRAILS IS ONE THAT HAS BEEN BEFORE YOU ALL. AND THEN WE HAVE A S P THAT ACTUALLY WAS RECENTLY RECEIVED. AND SO THAT ONE IS PROBABLY NOT ONE FOR DISCUSSION BECAUSE IT HAS NOT BEEN BEFORE YOU ALL. AND SO THIS IS A LIST OF ITEMS THAT WE HAVE IDENTIFIED.
