Chairperson Vaughn called the meeting to order at 7:09 PM and noted for the record that seven (7) Commissioners were present.
E. CONSENT AGENDA ITEMS:
(2) Approval of the Minutes for the Regular Meeting on May 12, 2009.
Motion to Approve to Approve the Minutes for the Regular Meeting on May 12, 2009. Moved by Vice Chairperson Tom Simerly, seconded by Commissioner Dwight Chambers.
Vote to Approve to Approve the Minutes for the Regular Meeting on May 12, 2009. (Approved)
Ayes: Chambers, Simerly, North, Jones, Vaughn, Dewberry, Stripling

F. PUBLIC HEARING:
(3) Consider Case Z-1171-09; an Amendment to Planned Development 58 (PD-58). This proposed amendment would allow general retail use at 900 N. Hampton Road. The property in question consists of 1 lot and is located at the northeast corner of Pleasant Run Road and Hampton Road. The applicant is Ross Peterson.
Mr. Tom Johnson, Managing Director of Development Services, presented the management report.
Chairperson Vaughn asked the Commission if there were any questions of staff. There being no response, she opened the public meeting and asked the applicant to come forward to address the Commission.
Mr. Ross Peterson, of 3301 Plaza Del Paz, Las Vegas, came forward to address the Commission. He explained that the property in question has been used for General Retail uses since it was developed. He also stated that the property would be better suited for General Retail uses.
Chairperson Vaughn asked the Commission if there were any questions or comments for Mr. Peterson.
Commissioner Jones asked Mr. Peterson if he could expand upon the types of uses or businesses that would be interested in the property.
Mr. Peterson stated that there have been a number of businesses interested in the property, but the current zoning has prevented them from pursuing the property seriously.
Chairperson Vaughn asked the Commission if there were any other questions for Mr. Peterson.
Commissioner Chambers asked Mr. Peterson if he considered renovating the site to draw more upscale type General Retail uses.
Mr. Peterson informed the Commission that he has no intention of renovating the property at this time.
Chairperson Vaughn asked the Commission if there were any other questions or comments for Mr. Peterson. Hearing no response, she closed the Public Hearing and asked the Commission if there was any further discussion on the issue. There being no response, she asked the Commission for a motion.
