Chairperson Vaughn called the meeting to order at 7:00 PM and noted for the record that seven (7) Commissioners were present.
E. CONSENT AGENDA ITEMS:
(2) Approval of the Minutes for the Regular Meeting on August 12, 2008.
Motion to Approve to Approve the Consent Agenda item with the modification noted during the worksession. Moved by Commissioner Donald Dewberry, seconded by Commissioner Reginald Jones.
Vote to Approve to Approve the Consent Agenda item with the modification noted during the worksession. (Approved)

F. PUBLIC HEARING:
(3) Consider Case Z-1153-08; an Amendment to the Zoning Ordinance amend Appendix A-3, Definitions; Section 36 - Use Regulations; Section 38 - Parking Regulations; Section 40 - Accessory Building & Use Regulations and Section 43 - Supplemental Regulations, to clarify definitions, move some regulations from the Definitions section to the Supplemental Regulations section, revise the Use Chart relating to the use Auto Glass and Seat Covers/ Upholstery, and classify the following uses: Muffler Shop, Sanitarium, Accessory Retail or Service (Incidental if Office District), Salvage or Reclamation of Products, and Wrecking Yard.

Ms. Linda Zombeck, Senior Planner, gave the staff report.
Chairperson Vaughn asked the Commission if there were any questions of staff. Hearing no response, she opened the public hearing and asked if there was anyone who wished to address the Commission either in favor or in opposition to case Z-1153-08. There being no response, she closed the public hearing and asked the Commission for a motion.
Motion to Approve to Approve Case Z-1153-08; an Amendment to the Zoning Ordinance amending Appendix A-3, Definitions; Section 36 - Use Regulations; Section 38 - Parking Regulations; Section 40 - Accessory Building & Use Regulations and Section 43 - Supplemental Regulations to clarify definitions, move some regulations from the Definitions section to the Supplemental Regulations section and revise the Use Chart. Moved by Vice Chairperson Tom Simerly, seconded by Commissioner Reginald Jones.
with the following stipulation:
(1) Revise the definition for Muffler Shop to include "A business that installs mufflers, tailpipes, catalytic converter and resonators on autos and trucks. Could also include the installation of brakes, shocks & struts".

Chairperson Vaughn expressed thanks to Ms. Zombeck for her hard work with the City. She also stated that the Commission would miss working with Ms. Zombeck.
Ms. Zombeck came forward and stated that it was a pleasure working with the City of DeSoto and she would also miss working with the Planning & Zoning Commission.
