3. Ambassador: Travis Trevino, Southwest Regional Communication Center
Travis has been with the SouthwestRegionalCommunicationsCenter as a Dispatcher Supervisor for almost 3 years. Prior to coming to the City of Desoto, he was a Paramedic for the City of Arlington. Travis has also worked in public safety in his home state of Illinois as a Volunteer Firefighter & EMT.
In 2003, Travis moved to Texas, fell in love with his cousin’s best friend, Kristina who he later married. Travis and Kristina have been married for 2 years and reside in Cedar Hill with their 2 dogs.
Little known fact: Travis was involved in a near fatal car accident in May of 2001. He hit a tree and laid in a ditch of water for 4 hours in 30 degree weather. Due to his injuries, Travis required 9 months in physical therapy. Not surprisingly, the Volunteer Ambulance EMT’s who rescued him that day were mostly students from a class he had taught just months before.
Travis believes being a good instructor is important and continues to teach new dispatchers life-saving techniques!
