I. Call to Order.

Mayor Sherman called to order the meeting at 5:40pm and indicated to the City Council that he would recuse himself from the interviews for the DeSoto Economic Development Corporation. He also stated that as the applicant entered, he would provide the welcome and then excuse himself.

II. Discuss and consider appointments, attendance requirements, and vacancies for all City of DeSoto Boards and Commissions.

Ms. Morris indicated that the DeSoto Economic Development Corporation had one position that was expiring December, 2013.

III. Conduct interview with an applicant for the DeSoto Economic Development Corporation.

Ms. Morris introduced William Dendy to the City Council and the City Council proceeded with his interview.

IV. Discuss and consider application process for individuals interested in serving on Boards or Commissions.

Council discussion regarding reappointment process and providing opportunities for other individuals to apply for the DEDC board.

It was the consensus of City Council to open the position on the DEDC Board to the public as well as re-interview the current board member, as there was not enough time allotted to complete the interview.

V. Adjourn.

Mayor Sherman adjourned the meeting at 6:10pm.
