Mayor Sherman called the meeting to order at 6:30pm.
1. Consider a Resolution to canvass results of the Joint Run-Off Election conducted on June 15, 2013 for Councilmember Place 5 per the requirements of the DeSoto City Charter and the Texas Election Code.

Ms. Morris read the agenda caption and presented the management report.
Motion to approve the Resolution to canvass the returns and declare the official results of the Joint Run-Off Election conducted on June 15, 2013, for the position of Councilmember Place 5 and declaring Richard (Dick) North elected as Councilmember Place Five for a term of three (3) years. Moved by Councilmember Ledbetter, seconded by Councilmember Clark.
Vote to approve the Resolution to canvass the returns and declare the official results of the Joint Run-Off Election conducted on June 15, 2013, for the position of Councilmember Place 5 and declaring Richard (Dick) North elected as Councilmember Place Five for a term of three (3) years. (Approved)
2. Conduct Oath of Office for newly elected City Councilmember Place 5 per the Texas Constitution.
