Pursuant to Texas Government Code 551.127, one or more members of the governing body may appear via videoconference call. The presiding officer and a quorum of the City Council will be physically present at this meeting. DeSoto City Council Meetings are open to the public; however, since space is limited and citizens are encouraged to view the meetings online rather than in person due to concerns related to the spread of COVID-19. Citizens attending in-person are asked to maintain a distance of at least 6-feet from other members of the public, City Council and staff. Consider a Resolution of the City Council of the City of DeSoto, Texas, canvassing the returns and declaring the results of the General Election held on Saturday, May 6, 2023, in the City of DeSoto, for the purpose of electing a Councilmember for Place 2 and a Councilmember for Place 4 per the Texas Election Code.
