Take Action on the Annexation of a strip of North Polk Street Right-Of-Way (ROW). This area is approximately 2.107 acres in area and has a width of approximately 85 feet and a length of approximately 1,535 feet, and begins approximately 170 feet north of Lima Street and runs south to a point approximately 380 feet north of East Centre Park Boulevard, and adoptingOrdinance.
Consider Zoning Case Z-1295-14; zoning of a 2.107 acre tract proposed for annexation from agricultural to industrial; area being a strip of Polk Street Right-of-Way (ROW) which has a width of approximately 85 feet and a length of approximately 1,535 feet, extending from approximately 170 feet north of Lima Street south to a point approximately 380 feet north of East Centre Park Boulevard. Applicant: City of DeSoto; and adopting Ordinance.
Consider Zoning Case Z-1292-14; an amendment to the DeSoto Town Center Planned Development 130 (PD-130) to increase the height of the façade for the retail building, which faces Pleasant Run Road and provide for a new tower; an area north of Pleasant Run Road and east of Hampton Road; on approximately 0.3351 acres of land. Applicant: Chaucer Chern; Owner: DeSoto Town Center, LLC.; and adopting Ordinance.
Consider an Ordinance of the City of DeSoto, Texas, amending the adopted budget for the Fiscal Year beginning October 1, 2014, and ending September 30, 2015, by amending Exhibit “A”, titled “Adopted Fiscal Year 2014-2015 Budget & Planning Year 2015 – 2016” by amending the financial analysis by amending Fund 101-007-010 to increase the number of Fire Captain classified positions from nine (9) to ten (10) and to reduce the number of firefighter/paramedic classified positions from forty-five (45) to forty-four (44).
Consider an Ordinance of the City of DeSoto, Texas, amending Chapter 5 titled, “Fire Prevention and Protection”, by adding a new Article 5.300 titled “Assignment Pay” establishing regulations for a designated fire fighter who performs specialized functions within the Fire Department to receive assignment pay in the amount of $22,022 annually, or $847 bi-weekly.
Consider a Resolution adopting the Citizen Participation Plan, and approving submission of the Citizen Participation Plan to the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD).
Consider a Resolution authorizing the application for a Texas Parks & Wildlife Department (TWPD) “Recreational Trail Grants Program” grant in the amount of $200,000, designating a representative for all matters related to the application, certifying eligibility for receipt of grant funds, and designate DeSoto Ranch Park as a public property intended for recreational purposes.
